Had to learn how to text because our son wouldn't ever answer the phone. But he will respond almost immediately to a text. I'm not very good with it but I eventually get the job done. Good luck. Maybe take it back to the store and have one of those young punks show you?
I just learned to text last week after I got my new smartphone. Like Jim and Sandie, it seems to be the only medium that our kids will respond to. Emails don't work, regular phone calls are intrusive, but texting does. I was very surprised how easy it is to do.
Got a new smart phone myself. John has helped me some and I signed up for a free class next week. Touch screen typing is different! Just another adventure for those of us who used rotary dial phones......
I don't text - at least not yet. I feel about texts like I did about faxes when fax machines first came out. I want the option to answer or receive, not have it intrude without me agreeing. I'm sure I'll come around, but not yet. :)
Life will go on. Let me say-tongue in cheek-what I always tell my kids-read the book! :)
