Goodness Gracious

Finally got string for the weed whacker. We have some natural areas in the back yard, that involves 2 lava tubes and wild grasses, hence the need for a week whacker. I normally used a friends, but she found one at a yard sale and it works great, but needed new string. What kind to get? Where? How to put it in? All of this was fraught with thought and wonderment. Found the outside looonng extension cord. Did get the string in and coming out where it was supposed to. Then it kept coming unplugged and the string was not coming out. U could tell something was up as the whine is different when it is unhappy. Figured that out numerous times, THEN i could not get the little round thing out that held the string, sat on the grass for the longest time trying to figure it out, trying to pull as the directions on top of the round thingy said to do, it would not pull out, the string would not move. I was finished. Fortunately i did the parts of the yard that are visible from the kitchen window and the main portion of the deck. The rest will just have to wait, grow, get bigger, uglier. But i can sit there and see only the good parts and not worry about what was left undone...for now.
Hope u all had a good day, Take Care and God Bless
Oh..i go to sign on the house Monday, then it is just waiting for bank to finish things up and the sellers to get in their paperwork, hope to take possession the end of next week.

  1. That is quick on your house...isn't it? Sounds like it. I love your description of your time with the weed whacker and I've been through what you went through.

  2. How frustrating - I probably would have thrown it out after the first ten minutes. I'm not known for having patience with machines.

  3. Take the weed whacker to a garden shop and see if they can help - or a Home Depot.

Yes, it sounds like your house is going quickly. I closed in two weeks once, but we were both motivated. I wanted the sale and the buyers wanted possession in two weeks. It got done in time. Good luck!

  6. I sure can sympathize with stringing the week whacker. What a pain. Do you have to have it all mowed before you leave? Hope not.

  8. Weed whacker string. Bane of my life. Bane of Mo's life. We keep buying a different kind each year, promises of perfect bump advance, no tangling, no breaking. Yeah, right. I was gardening the other day while Mo whacked the weeds and I was sooooo glad it was her turn since every three minutes I heard awful silence while she was manually advancing the string. Ack! Can't someone make one that actually works???
