Chores & Planning

Today Brian came over and turned on the irrigation water, checked all the sprinklers and timers and things that i manage to get 'messed' up during the summer. Promised i would not touch anything! got the lawn mower out of the back of the pick up and installed in the back yard.
Then we went for a drive to Crooked River Ranch to look at a property i saw. He thought it looked really good, 'had potential' I thought it looked as if it needs alot of work!!! Also talked to a realtor and will get together with her next week, maybe we can see the inside of the property and maybe she has a line on some others. Want something with some land to it, so dogs can run, i can get some cats and yard to work in. A place to park the RV. Maybe Brians's trailer also. We will see.
Prices are down right now on certain places, but many of them have been sitting for awhile and are really run down. Thinking and looking.

Optimus

Is the name of the phone, for those who asked, by Sprint. i can get a 'hotspot' for the computer with it too, for wifi connections, but have not gotten there yet. Went for a lesson today and feel confident that i can now do e-mail and got 'Angry Birds' on it!! For lots of wasted time i am sure :) Got the ringer amped up so i can hear the thing when it rings. Just some tweaking that needed to be done, to make me happy.

New Phone

Well!!! Yes, i lost everything. There was no life in the phone at all. Boy when i opened the washer and saw it laying there on top, i knew it was not a 'good thing'. Now i have a new phone, that sure is purty, BUT i will be lucky if i can figure out how to answer it! HAHa. Do u think it will keep my brain active?

OH, NO!!!

Just 'washed' my phone! It was in my pants pocket. That was easy to do, don't know why i haven't done it b4. If i had gotten up and made the phone call i was 'supposed' to do, this would not have happened. So mad at myself. Have been carrying insurance for years, tho, so will see what Sprint will do for me now :) Wonder if i have LOST all my phone numbers!!! As i don't have alot of them anywhere else. Well, this will be one of those life learning experiences............

Went to see this movie, it was pretty good, always like Matthew. They made him look really bad, he had alot of bad days in this movie and was fighting evil and his conscience, which was really hard on him :) But it was a fast movie and moved right along.

Passing Days

Days have passed again, been busy working in yard, going to doctor's appointments. Just trying to get everything taken care of that needs it. Rain sprinkles this afternoon.

Weeellll, finally gave up & took the computer to a place down the street, new place. the disk was not recognized by the mother board. Thought at 1st would have to get new disk thingy, but they took it out, tried a different one & it worked, so not the mother board fault. Put back in the old one & it worked!!! what the h...? So have Roxio downloaded and now trying to figure it out :) one thing or another. they never charged me for their time either.. that was kind!
Got some stuff to try to shine up the RV, now just need to get a couple days that is above 40!!! and will go out to wash and rub the RV to death, can hardly wait......
Gas just keeps going up and up, don't know when i will plan another trip or jaunt. But reading other peoples blogs sure makes me envious and wanting to GO somewhere.

Missing

Today had our ladies group come over for Lunch and dominos, Had hot artichoke dip on french bread, pulled pork sandwiches with cole slaw, and one of them made a German chocolate cake for dessert, YES it was really good!!
Prior to this was a flurry of cleaning and picking up!
Later we watched, "Country Strong" and "Burlesque". Two completely different movies, both really good.

Bought Roxio at Costco and it does not work. One would think u would just have to put in the CD and follow directions. I put it in and nothing happens, think there is something missing on this laptop! All i want to do it put my pictures of my trip on a DVD so they are all in one place and saved, and maybe have a little 'show' of them, geez, why are things always so hard?

Today had lunch with friends at Applebee's, our favorite place.
Then have dentist appt and one doctor. Have to play catch up with them all, so he will keep giving me meds :) HA!
Windy out and cold..... Looking for that nice Spring weather, or maybe this is it?
Think maybe the generator won't work on the RV as only have a little over a fourth of a tank of gas. Hope that is all it is. RV did not smell that bad with all of the Irish Spring strewn about inside it!! Maybe the smell dissipates after awhile, but the effectiveness does not, Hope so.
Went to see Aunt Thelma yesterday, she is much the same, doesn't know up from down. But looked perky, she is not eating.....sad....

Yard Work

Been working in the yard, taking it slow and easy as i am not used to doing this, we have had yard boy doing it for the last 2 years. This year money is tight, and we (me) are doing it ourselves :) It does feel good, as Al says at 'the Bayfield Bunch', to stretch and feel an accomplishment. It just seems a little daunting right now, as there is so much to do. But it is not really that bad as it has been cared for like i said the last couple of years so there is not too much build-up. Just alot of dead things from last year. Just got the side of the yard picked up of all the debris from cedar bushes along the property line that shed ALOT of twigs or needles, whatever that is! And the strawberry plants below the Oregon Grape. Everything is sort of matted into the crevices and grass. Things have to be cut back and pulled out. Good exercise and gives me a purpose :) All the tramping to and fro.

Oh My Goodness!!!

I don't OWE any taxes.... a mistake was made and my medical expenses which includes almost $10,000 i pay for health insurance! was missed.. So, now i get something back, not enough to be independently wealthy, but that is never going to happen anyway:) at least i own nothing. That so weighed heavy on me, to have to take even more out of savings, at least i had it to take out, right? but i like a little cushion there, and the cushion was getting a might thin... Now i can heave a sigh of relief. Put it back where it belongs and go forward. I thought it odd, that i owed so much, when i paid out so much in taxes when taking out to get the pick-up and expenses for emergencies while on the road. It has worked out, things have righted themselves, the sun is shinning. life is good.

Lazy Butt!

Well, this week end is a bust. Just grey skies, coldness. It is Oregon. Did manage to clean out the pantry and do little chore things about. there is always something that needs cleaned or moved, put away. Movies to watch, books to be read. Laundry to be done. There ARE things to do. Just no oompf to do them i guess. Thinking alot about what to do with life. Owe money on my taxes :( have nothing to deduct but my medical expense for the insurance and sundry co-pays on meds i take, which apparently, tho i feel is alot, is not enough! HATE owing on taxes.. much rather get something back and why is one year different from another? Can't figure it out. So, it has been a grey, thinking week-end, no fun...

Happy 21st!!!

Today is my sweet youngest niece's 21st birthday. She was in a horrid car accident the 1st part of March, in the snow on Mt Hood. She is getting along wonderfully. Doing really well. We are so thankful she is well and still with us. It was a GREAT celebration at Coyote Ranch in Redmond. They have great steaks. The filet mignon melted in your mouth! This is her boyfriend in the picture with her. He seems very devoted to her and she to him. It is a lovely thing to see and be part of.
It was a happy evening.

Store

Was out of toilet tissue and Pepto-Bismal, the essentials in life! So went to Costco, wandered around for awhile, that place just fascinates me, but don't usually get alot of the big bulk foods as can't eat it all! Managed to keep the expenditure below $100. Books are such a deal there, but have to figure which ones i want to keep or hold for my little library, rather than get them on the Kindle.
Also to Old Navy for birthday gift of clothes for the 21 yr old niece.
Luci went along and was happy, happy in the car. As long as she is not left behind and gets to be with me, she is good as gold.
The snow was off and on all day, so COLD out. The passes are a mess and Mt Bachelor and Mt Hood are happy for Spring ski season.

It is snowing!!!

Boy am i mixed up, Jim and Sandie are with "Where are the Dixons?", "2 Taking the 5th" are Stu and Donna, The Dixons have 2 Dachshunds, like Luci and Stu and Donna have a boxer. And apparently i can't keep things straight or report properly, no one complained, or brought it up, i happened to notice it this morning, geez
And yes it is SNOWING here, not sticking, but still! and what is it in DHS??? 70 at least i am sure! My quest for warmth this year has fizzled, as did the weather, just fizz......

Got Gertie, the little pick-up, back today, after another alternator, (no cost for the 2nd one) and new battery. Runs like a top!
Son, Brian came over for left overs and we talked, caught up. sure wish he could find a job. Bend is not known as a favorable job market.

Not Much

Just working around the house, getting things in order. Made dinner and cookies for my son, BUT there is a big 'game' tonight and he couldn't make it, more for me!!! Made a Pot Roast, recipe from "the Pioneer Woman"
Appears the alternator put in on March 8th was not good, the Ford dealer here in Bend is honoring the warranty and it won't cost anything, but it has drained the battery ability to keep a charge, so need a new one of those, it is always something, i swear.
These flowers are from the Culinary School opening in Tehachapi i went to before i left.
We are having cold weather, supposed to get snow!!! Wednesday, i don't believe it, Will it never be warm? It is in Desert Hot Springs!! Could be still swimming in the pool there, aarrrgggg...........

Well!

Pick-up broke down when coming home from Madras!!! Same thing! this time tho the radio stopped playing, would cut out when i used the turn signal, then all the gauges stopped working. THEN it would not take off in 1st, had to pour on the gas, got to the north end of Bend and pulled into Les Schwab and they said it sounded electrical, had it towed this morning to the Ford garage, they said they would honor parts and work done at Fiesta Ford in La Quinta, Ca, which is a good thing!!! So poor Gertie is at the Ford place, hopefully getting an operation that will work!!!
AND could not get the generator in the RV to start, so have a call in to the RV tech, hope i am just not pushing the right button. BUT all the Irish Spring is distributed throughout the coach and BOY does it smell!!!! Hope that dissipates, yet still works!
We are just Springy all over the place!!! Got 3 packages of soap or six bars cut into 4ths :) Seemed like alot of pieces Ha!!!
We are supposed to have rain all next week... Don't quite know what i think of that..
My niece Jeri May will turn 21 on the 8th!!!! Seems only yesterday she was a little girl....

RV Day

Yesterday had to get an oil change and get those pesky headlight problems taken care of. It was a real drag driving up dark old hwy 97 with really dim lights and no dash lights. Although i NEVER plan on driving in the dark again, one never knows, and need to be prepared. Also had to do a last dump, so took it to an RV sales place to do that, as seemed to be the only place. Also filled up with propane. So am all ready to GO again!!
Guys at Coach Masters here in Bend were wonderful and helpful. Told me to use Irish Spring hand soap, cut into pieces- all over the RV, inside and under in storage to keep mice away. Going to give it a try. Anyone ever heard of that. I already have Bounce all over the place as heard mice don't like that either! Feel like i am trying to ward off evil spirits :) or bad Juju!!!!
We have a bright sunny day here. Going to take the RV to Madras today.
