Xmas Cooking

There is a SPICE shop in the Old Mill Dist, Savory Spice... and they had this recipe, using a couple of their mixes, one for a turkey rub and another of vanilla bean sugar, with honey & Caro Syrup..they are SO good!! This is the 2nd batch i have made, going to share this one. Well i shared the 1st batch too :)
These are Florence's cookies, she lived behind us when we lived in Aloha in the late 50's, i have made them every year since, yummo!! I have seen them in cook books as Mexican Wedding Cake??  or snowballs, but they will always be Florence's cookies to me!!!!  She was a very kind older lady.

These are just choco chip, but i added dried cherries to them.. and walnuts..
Getting nuts ready for another batch..

Pine cones i sprayed gold.. Picked up these huge cones in Bend one day when i was there...

Here is baby Luci, saying "Where's mine????
Lots of activity, but nothing forthcoming for her :)
Take Care All and God Bless...  Glad we are all still here....................

  1. She is sooo cute and they are such beggars. They were always Mexican Wedding Cakes when my Mom made them. Such wonderful memories. With Jim's blood sugar issues we just can't have anything like that in the house.

  5. Everything looks sooooooo good.
I was going to make some things then started reading the labels and said I better not. Way to much sugar( I know there are subs out there) and cholesterol I don't need. Or maybe I am just to lazy?
    Merry Christmas!
