To Sisters Today

The Stitchin' Post remodeled, they said, and had an open house today.  Roll out of classes & samples. It is nice, they now have two counters to pay at, which is an improvement. And it does look fresher.  But basically it was pretty much the same  :)  Everything there is just so darn expensive.. Suppose i should be more supportive. There were lots of patterns that were reasonable, but then if you bought material/fabric,  yeow....
Soooo, i did not get anything. BUT had a great time looking.  And i LOVE Valerie's fabric, wish i could get whatever i wanted....
And isn't this little house cute?? Very whimsical.

Aren't the colors luscious tho???   I have been going here since 1975 too!!  And have taken a couple of classes throughout the years
This cute little boat quilt, i thought was hung up sideways or so i thought, so turned it to put it in the blog  ;)
Cute, cute..can u just see this in a beach house???

Then i went to Bend, to JoAnn's as i needed some green thread for a doily i am doing and some fleece for a project i had in mind....Nora i got the fleece for the idea you gave me to put a big envelope cover on the back of my recliner...and BOY did that work!!!  SO very much warmer than that cold old leather!!!  AND i found the perfect thing/color for my little house and it is flowers!!!!
Take Care All & God Bless

  1. I like to go to the Stitching Post when I visit Sisters, but the only thing I've ever purchased is a five-inch square ruler. I think most quilt stores are expensive! But it's oh, so fun to look. Thank you for sharing your pictures. I love your new chair cover--nice!

  2. I love your chair cover. How much material did it take to do that?
We usually get to Bend at least once each summer

  4. I have some of the Kaffe Fassett fabric in your picture, but I can't decide what to do with it! You are so right, it is expensive stuff, but osoooo pretty. I hope I can get to Sisters this July. I agree...the chair back looks really nice.

  6. I don't quilt or do crafts but would like to ask what DOES make the fabrics & things so expensive? And are they produced in the US from US grown cotton?

  7. Weird that they would hang the sail boat quilt sideways. Love all the photos.

I'm getting itchy to start some kind of crafty project. Not having a sewing machine will limit me, but I did buy a packet at Michael's with a book and DVD and needles for crocheting and two skeins (?) of yarn. I want to make a neck scarf for myself to start and see if I can do it.

I love all the things you make. Your chair looks nice, and I can see how it would be warmer and more comfortable now. Good job.
