Gravel!!

See in front of the shed and by the sidewalk?  That is where the 1st load that I got in the little pick-up went....
And let me tell you, that weed killer really worked.. 2 days later the weeds were turning brown.  Think I could have applied it a little heavier than what I did and it sort of showed up in swirls, like the way I was moving the nozzle :)  but the mixture worked well, am pleased with the results....  that was a gallon of vinegar, 1/2 cup of salt and about a tablespoon of Dawn liquid dish washing soap....
Here is the truck with the gravel from this morning. Got here about 9:45am
Here is the little pick-up sitting in her place.... high and dry on gravel..... took me forever to get it in there straight and far enough away from the driveway- as I am apparently having problems backing out of the garage!!!!  We still have a huge pile left over.  They would only deliver 5 yrds minimum, and did not want to drive back and forth, back and forth getting 1/2 yrd at a time.  Only charged $25 to deliver, did not think that was too bad.  That HUGE truck that delivered the dirt and can place the conveyor anywhere in the yard charged $125 to deliver as they came from Bend  :(  So went with a local guy.  Harangued Brian enough and just went out and started doing it myself and he showed up, guess he felt a little bad as I was out there working  :)  But he was not going to do it if I was not there... guess he needed someone to boss about and tell they were doing things wrong....  But it is done, don't know what I am going to do with that left over tho.  BUT think I will come up with something.....
Take Care All!!

  1. I just love this, a blog about gravel. Well done on all counts! Glad you have Brian to help even if he is a bit on the "difficult" side. :-)

  3. I want to get gravel too. We have moles. I don't want to kill them but I'd like for them to go elsewhere. The ground is too soft...

    haha Sherry...

  6. So good that you are not putting plastic under the gravel. At least the ground will get the water when it rains.

  8. Thanks so much for the review of the weed killer. I think I'm losing the battle here but I keep trying. And where were Luci and Carl when they could have been out there helping you move the gravel. Our girls would have been digging in it.
