Fender-Bender....

This is what $536 looks like..  :0
Did I not say before that there is something every month, keeping me from saving just tons of money??  This is it....  the other car was parked in a dumb place.. It was NOT there when i got into my car, and he had not gotten very far when the crunch happened and came running back.. I have a good excuse!!!  not really my fault?  These could all be said,  BUT bottom line is that I backed into another car, my fault... I have a $250 deductible.  AND the oil guy came today.. but that was only $103 for 3 months of use, so do not think that is a bad thing, of course I also use my electricity and am on the payment plan for, which went up in Sept, and my house payment is going up also because property taxes went up $20,000... geez, my retirement funds did NOT go up to match all of this.. Is the Universe conspiring against me?  Is it the luck of the draw?  What?  Just WHAT???  I am listening...
My ability to back into another car makes me question my ability to drive... really.... I DO watch and looked behind me and am cognizant of what is behind me, look all about.  Was thinking of what in the world I was going to fix for dinner....  AND it was right there at the courthouse too, at least it was not one of the miscreants we had been making decisions on all day.

  3. I have noticed that peripheral vision is not as acute as it used to be. I turn around and can't see nearly as well when I am backing. Makes me pretty paranoid about it. Dang money thing, what a pain in the patottie! Take care, Loree

  4. I cannot judge distances any more, and usually get out of the car to see how I'm parked before I even turn off the ignition. I invariably have to move up or back some. I backed into one of those wooden posts in a campground this summer and it broke my heart because my Highlander didn't have even a scratch before that. Now it's a good sized scratch and dent.

  5. I do not think your backing in to the other car is any serious indication of your driving skills. These things just happen. That sure is a lot of money for a small damage.

Sometimes it seems the world conspires against you:(

  6. My mind said uh oh when I read the title. I have the same feeling as you do that every month I will get to put a little ahead and then it's insurance or some new medical cost and on and on. But as long as we have enough, I guess that is all that matters.

  7. Uh-O. Sorry about the accident. Isn't it amazing how the cost of things creep up? But hark, we are getting a 1% raise on SS. Whoppee!!

  8. 20,000? I do pray for your sake it is a typo! Mine have steadily increased since I moved in a few years ago. Up 30% over the last 4 years. I have a few dents in mine from a couple of "accidents" with my own garage.......

  11. Life will always get in the way of your plans. You intend to have a money reserve, you’d be given more unexpected overheads. Here’s to hoping December will be good to you and to your savings! Good thing no one’s physically hurt. That, at least, has saved you from additional expenses. Be more careful from now on! ;) Maggie@Mastrangelo Law Offices
