Review

Friend Tanya and I went to see this movie Saturday...goodness, I had heard it advertised as a 'comedy'.  Guys, this is NOT a 'comedy'.... I would say it is a character study of family dysfunction!! Meryl Streep can't possibly do anything wrong, but she plays a horror of a woman, who is dying.. not funny..  everyone was really good and there were some really BIG names in this movie.. Sam Sheperd looks old, it has been awhile since I saw him in anything. .maybe he was made up to look that way?  He looked old.....  It was good, but don't think I will run right out to buy the movie when it comes out on DVD.. it is dark, the house is dark (what a house!) Oklahoma is Oklahoma, dry and mostly one color...
So, there you have it....  Tanya and I had a good day tho,  before the movie went to stamp club and made 3 cards, then lunch at Shlotsky's...  we shared a good reuben.... then after- home. and it did not snow so much that it was awful driving,  and it was trying....

Take Care All & God Bless

  1. I find the title of the movie interesting since I grew up in a town named Osage--Iowa, not Oklahoma.

  2. Doesn't sound like a movie I would enjoy - I see enough dysfunctional family as it is LOL!! Don't really care for "dark" movies anymore. Glad you had a fun day though.

  3. Dysfunctional is tragic, but one almost has to laugh so not to cry. Can't wait to see the movie. Its opening here next week. Today we're going to see Nebraska. Hope I enjoy it.

The stamp clup sounds like fun, and the rueben sounds delicious!

  6. Thanks for the review. I love the actors, but don't like movies that are dark and hard to see what's going on. I'm okay with "dark" as a storyline, but not "dark" as in light or dark rooms, etc. You know what I mean.

How's Luci doing? Can you let us know in your next post? I'm sure most of us are wondering.

I'm with Hazel - I'd love to belong to a stamp club. Maybe some day when I settle in one place. :)
