Dog Day

It just gets to be 'the day' at times and today was bath day for 'ol Carl!!  I can stand him just so long.....
In Bend is a U-Wash place, the tubs are waist high and very comfortable to wash dogs in, no bending over or kneeling.  And when the hair clogs the drain, they have to clean it out!! ;)  Today, Carl just walked right in and up the stairs, into the tub.  He never balks, but at times he is reluctant to get in and has to be overly 'invited' to just get in!!  today he seemed to be enjoying the whole process, LOVES to have the shampoo rubbed around and into his skin.. then the drying part, really likes that too..
when you go on Tuesday, the nail clip is free....  Luci gets her nails clipped then too, but do not bathe her there as she is easy to dump in the laundry room sink.......  In the second picture, he is ready to get out, enough is enough.  They also get milk bone treats after and that appears to be quite the incentive.

I wash him 3X with the shampoo (completely rinse off soap in between) and then they have a conditioner too for the last.  You can see in the last picture how high the tubs are.  It is a really nice place to go, even tho it does smell quite a bit of 'dog'..... they are really nice in there, a person can tell they love animals.
Carl is all soft and sweet smelling now and feels better too as is more energetic.... and bouncy.. all healed up and sweet smelling  :)

May you all be bouncy and sweet smelling  :)

Take Care and God Bless

  1. Oh boy, Carl in the bathtub. Now that's a bunch of fun photos! We may have to find a place like that here - would sure be easier than bending over the bathtub.

  2. They have a self wash dog station over at the car wash near us. Haven't tried it out yet, but it's looks like you could wash your dog before you wash your car. There is another dog wash place further down the street that looks more like the one you take Carl to. They are a pretty good idea, don't you think?

  3. I gave Skitz a bath today and got the anti-itch shampoo in her eye. If she's not better in the morning I'll have to take her to the vet. I feel so bad. Wish we had a dog wash place close by but I haven't found one yet. So I have to bed over in the shower to shampoo them and it just about kills my back. You have to admit that Carl is just about the cutest bulldog there ever was.

  7. Oh well, you know me. I love all things Carl. I just always have to laugh out loud at him and never more than today. Oh Carl you rogue you! Hope you don't have to fend off all the ladies now that you are so sweet smelling. VERY nice of you Loree to wash Brian's dog and make Carl so bouncy!

  9. Carl looks darling in a pink towel but please tell him that he looks 'manly!' Isn't it funny how pups seem to be so frisky after a bath? Ari Girl loves to go to the groomer--she smells so good & her fur is so soft. Then she comes home & within seconds, she rolls around in the grass. I guess she wants to smell like a dog again!
