Loosing it!!

Made 'oatmeal' cookies today.. just felt the need to bake something and forgot the OATS!!!!  this is what they looked like, took me TWO batches before it occurred to me...  GEEZ!!!  So I then added oats to the rest of the dough, will see if that helps at all.
Well have to report that with the oats added, they do look better, not spread all over the place.  Am sure they will be just fine....  hahaha
I really wonder about myself... and that appears to have been happening more and more, don't know if I just don't care, don't read well enough, think I know it all.. WHAT is it????
Day before I made a pork chop/rice/onion, chicken stock thin, I concocted and put it in the crock pot then proceeded to cook the hell right out of it!!!  the meat was dry and the rice all gloppy.. it was gross, we ate on it for two days!  Brian even asked if I wanted him to cook a couple meals..told him I thought it might be better if he did..  :)

Take Care All & God Bless.....

May we all read directions completely and thoroughly  :)  over and over

  2. I find myself doing things like that more often than I used to. I think it's not memory, but a lack of concentration. How can we concentrate well with so many things vying for our attention. You're ok, girl!

  3. Just remember to turn the stove and oven off. That's the worst thing if you don't do that.

  4. I think it is because I do not cook as I did when I had kids home. Husband retired and we just go out to eat, etc. when I cook for special occasions, I always mess something up. Cake in oven. Look over and see the eggs sitting on the counter! What to do? Whipped that cake batter out and stirred the eggs in.

  6. I made a peach cobbler the other night and melted the butter in the microwave. Then forgot to put it in the cobbler. So you are definitely not alone. I think it's cause I don't cook on a regular basis anymore. We grill so much and Jim's not supposed to have desserts so they are a treat rather than a regular part of dinner.

  7. I dug through the refrigerator the other day looking for a bag of grated cheese I had just put away. Needed just a bit more. Lo and behold, found it in the freezer.

  8. Loree you have so many nice encouraging friends! You are fortunate!

  9. I DO, truly have a lot of people who are encouraging even tho I do some really stupid things at times.. always better to be encouraged instead of discouraged and touted for how well you do things rather than the other way around and I surely DO appreciate it!!!

  10. You know, I hate to tell ya....the older we get the more we do stuff like this :-) I think it's a combination of things....
But, all we can do is laugh it off....I am always doing something goofy!

  11. Sounds like we are in good company Loree with our lapses. I just had no idea this was going to happen. I used to juggle 4 or 5 things at once. Now I often can't do one right.

  12. You're absolutely right, Sherry! Multi-tasking is a thing of the past for me! Loree, I can completely empathize! I have to really concentrate & keep reading & re-reading recipes so I don't forget things! sigh...
