Pottery!!

Love this Polish pottery!!  A friend of mine has TONS of this she got on QVC.. It is dear... I got mine at an estate sale for $21!!!  for all three.. SCORE!!!  The serving bowl alone would probably be close to $100.. So see, I did well.  Even got up early and was there in time for the handout of numbers- was #34..  AND I love blue pottery.  Mom always bought 'blue' pottery..i am following after her, it is just cheery to me.  Found some spices and a rake yesterday (different sale).... Never thought of spices, but when I was in Corvallis with my friend, she got some and I thought, well, why not???
Was out of pepper again too.. so got some for 50 cents!! An almost full can...
I love this coffee mug, it is just the right size for soup and other assorted things that I eat that are to small a portion to use a huge bowl for.... so just right!
Also like pitchers, have a number of them.... don't know why, don't use cream.... but I have them  :) this was especially small 'n cute, good for something at some point......
have been doing nothing noteworthy.  Think I have already said it many times, all the daily little chores and comings and goings here at Sunshine Cottage.... nothing exciting, did not even leave the house today!  Thought about it, but why?  what do I really need? not a darn thing... not even groceries.  Read a lot.
Reading a Carl Hiaasen book, Stormy Weather.. it is good, 1st one I have read by him and I like the way he writes, the flow of the story.  Crime/murder/weather after a hurricane.  It is interesting.  Takes me away from the mundane of life. In between dogs in and out. It is 16 steps from my chair to the back door!!! Wonder how many times I travel that in a day and each time it is 4 trips as I am not standing there waiting for them but going to sit, then up again to let them in.  See, I have too much time on my hands to have that all figured out!!
Take Care All, I truly DO enjoy going everywhere with all of you!!!  and the great pictures of different places and all the flora and fauna................

  1. Nice your collecting of Polish pottery brings back memories of your Mom. My Mom collected kids! she had 5 of them and it consumed her life.

  3. When I visited my brother & s-i-l in Germany in about 1990, (he was in the military) Polish pottery was becoming all the rage with military wives. My s-i-l had a couple of pieces back then but sadly I never bought any. I think at first they actually traveled over the border to Poland to get it. Yours really is pretty

  4. My mother collected Toby mugs which I always liked. I have her stash packed away at my daughter's house for when the time comes for me to hang up my keys.

  6. That is beautiful pottery. I collected pichers too. Anything with a spout. Don't know why. I just liked them. Used them for pancake syrup and gravy. When we had raw milk I used them for the fresh cream. OH MY!!

  8. The little pitches with the red dots would be darling with some red carnations cut short. I've always put flowers in my pitchers. Becki
