Trees Up!

This is the new bird ornament from Hallmark this year.  I have about four of them I think.  They are so pretty and detailed and probably the only hummingbird I will be able to get a picture of!  People down South are getting such beautiful pictures of them!
Today wanted to go to Bend, but wanted Brian to take me and he would not as the roads were awful, we are still into freezing rain. Supposed to get more tonight.  Hope it goes away pretty soon, so I can get the things I need, to finish up things around here.  So I spent the day gift wrapping and getting boxes together ready for mailing.  Have two boxes to Iowa and one to Southern Calif.  I keep pulling things out that I have squirreled away that I forgot about.

Am at the point where I am basically done, and am scurrying about getting things I should not be getting.  SO  am just going to STOP.. enough is enough... life will go on

I do not have to be perfect
I wanted a 'white' tree this year, don't know why, just have always wanted one,  on sale at Fred's....  BUT I always end up with cute, never beautiful.... because I have so many special ornaments that have to be on the tree, like the Hospice snowflake ornaments.  And then there was the year I spent a lot of time making soft sculpture birds and have to use them :)  and love, love, love my birds.... sparkley ones.... Hallmark ones... left over ones, gifts

And don't you love the knome  at the bottom of the tree?  He is new this year, am getting into knomes.  (sp?)  They are so darn cute....  see, like cute.....

Then there is the cotton boll I got in New Orleans

It is special, it has memories,  it is mine... just mine....

And last year I just had a Charlie Brown tree and Brian was rather disappointed (no matter how old he gets) so... it was time to 'do' things up this year  :)  At the end we are still Mother's....oh, well.....

Take Care and God Bless All

  1. Years ago when my kids were at home and I put up a tree I always had ornaments with sentimental value. I think I gave most of them to the kids because I don't do any more Christmas than I have to.

  2. When I saw your tree I thought "she's dreaming of a white Christmas". But you probably aren't with all that ice. The tree looks lovely and I think the sentimental ornaments are the very best. Just trimming the tree you can relive all those wonderful memories.
