Finished reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski... He writes beautifully, some places you could just see and feel what he is saying or telling you. And loved that there were dogs in it. BUT having said that, can't say I was happy with the book or the ending. I am a happily ever after type person, I KNOW things don't always work out that way, such is life, but I don't necessarily want to read about the total sadness and unhappiness of others... AND I like all my questions or questions raised by the story to be answered at the end. You know, all tied up with a pretty bow!! Because my mind does not work the way of crime and pure evil, those are things I would not think of on my own at any time.
This was one of Oprah's book club books and I can see why. She seemed to gravitate towards far reaching, deep thinking subjects, conjecture, personal growth, things like that. AND like I said Mr Wroblewski has a way with words. You know how everyone feels and thinks and how the trees brood and fog raises and how a barn feels and smells.
It was a good read, but not a satisfying for me end.
