Rain 'n Flood

Wow, we had thunder and lightning and pouring rain and hail. All in no time at all!!!
Water was running all over the place, pooling in the yard, splashing on the windows

Can't hardly see the house across the ally, or the cars at the end of the walkway. Yes, that is the little Element there to the right, does not know what to do with herself, sitting out in the weather all day and all night and in all kinds of weather....
At least the salt got washed off!!

Look at the rain pooling in the yard and running down the hillside...
I keep hoping Spring will show up, bright and warmer, one of these days,  have had periods of it getting warmer, and I have gotten to stop sleeping with the heating pad to stay warm so it is warming up, even at night somewhat, but still.....
Water was running down the little alley like it was a river, such a sight to see!!

These last 3 pictures were more of the mighty Mississippi, flooding at Credit Island about 3 miles south of Davenport.  There is about a 2-4 foot drop down to the river here, but you can see it is up and over that.  We had been to the same place Monday and the water was up and over the road, which was closed.  Yesterday you could drive out there, it had gone down that far.
The old house is a unique 'fixer-upper' on an island in the river.
And everyone has pictures of different, cool birds on their blogs, so here is a Canadian goose that we saw :) actually she was quite mad at us for stopping there and came running up to the car, honking and carrying on (is that called honking? quacking?) and is it a she??? can't tell..

So we are having interesting weather, I guess it is in the 70's at home... how do I always miss the warm weather and end up where it is cold or adverse???? luck?? excitement?

Take Care All & God Bless..... stay dry  :)

  1. I always wanted to live in a house on an island but with global warming now I am not so sure. Sorry the good weather is where you aren't. Raining here today too.

  3. That is lots of water! We have had rain for days on end here as well. I have a small lake at the end of the backyard. The really bad part is that can bring out the snakes:(
