Luci and the yard...

Oh, my poor little baby... she had dental work again this year.. only lost one tooth this time.  On heart and liver meds... which she takes right down like candy, silly girl... don't even have to wrap it in cheese or lunch meat like we do with Carl...
This was thursday, today she is right back to normal, whatever that is... was in the yard with me most of the morning while i was yet again picking up leaves....

At right is a picture before the leaves were raked... and when i actually got to them, there were about twice this number...  i complain, but it is something that gets me out of the house and being somewhat active to get them all up and out of this space

The sun through the leaves really are beautiful.. Many, many trees are turning this year... but many are already done.  We had some wind last week and that takes care of alot of them.

Above is the little walkway that i have made. Brian did lay the stepping stones in sand base and i have filled in with the gravel.

Had been filling the back of the pick up with fallen branches and leaf sacks and crap that Brian swept off the roof, boy that was a total mess. Don't think we have done it for a couple years, not good, just sits up there and gets wet and solid.... made him get on the roof and cut back branches from hitting the roof and he 'discovered' the mess up there...  SO had all of that in the pick up and had to make a dump run, so i could get to the place to get gravel.  (there was a really nice man that came over and helped me unload the truck at the dump, he acted like i was on my last legs!)One thing leads to another, or you have to take care of one thing to do the thing you really want or need to do, BUT now it is all taken care of... BUT i only got 1/4 yard of gravel... as it takes alot of time and effort to unload even a half yard!!! Fortunately i can't get a FULL yard in my little pick-up, even a half yard makes the front end stick up as so much weight in the back, bet  full yard would take the front wheels right off the ground!!!

Tree picture above is all of the leave that are STILL left on the tree.... yes, i am sure i am going to be raking for the next week or so for sure.... a little bit a day till the job is done... Still have half of that gravel in the truck too, but.. a little a day to get the job done... haha.... that is really labor intensive for me.. can only fill the wheel barrel like 1/3 full or else i cant even move it!!! AND the wheel barrel is huge!!! should have a somewhat smaller one.... but it has a good tire that rolls over most anything, with ease.... don't have to push it to terrible hard....

I complain about all of this too, but, you know it does get me out and when the job gets done, it is with a sense of accomplishment!!! AND things look better (normally) afterwards too....

Take Care All and God Bless

  1. I think Skitz is going to need more dental work when we get back. Her teeth are in such bad shape. Sure glad Luci is back to normal. I must admit I don't miss having to rake leaves. The tree is pretty though.

  3. Poor Luci but needs to be done and at least she is taking the meds easily. :)
Lots of leaves. I don't mind raking, just don't like the picking up and bagging part. haha
You do have a few more to get by the looks of that tree. It is true, intent to do one job tends to lead us to other things at the same time. LOL

  4. I have been tackling mold on the deck rug from mashed oatmeal (guess how that got there!) and glycerin from too many bubble spills. Going to try and plant some bulbs (again) this afternoon. Going to put cayenne pepper in the hold with them and hope the squirrels do not eat them again this winter.....
