Well, guess what? those 'birds' are actually FROGS in the trees, so they say. we still think they sound pretty, BUT the locals are disgusted with them, apparently they were shipped in from some place else and have taken over things and what we thought beautiful and so Hawaiian is a nuisance, HA!
we went to 'old' Hilo and shopped around, found a neat fabric store and got a kit for a Hawaiian blanket, it will be cute!!! sitting with the other 'kits' that i have from various places, but i figure in the RV in a place where i have nothing to do, i will have all the time in the world to sew them all together!!!!
got into the pool again and went to a lava tree state park, that was rather neat! they once had some really BIG trees here.
got all kinds of fresh fruits for eating and had those last night while playing dominos!!!
today we are going back to Hilo and an extended saturday market held on wednesday, the to the zoo/botanical gardens, see macadamia nut farm and some waterfalls. eventually we will get to a BEACH i am sure!!!!!
