Shutter Island

I am reading "Shutter Island" by Dennis LeHane. OMG to be able to write like this would be unbelievable, such character building w/o really knowing that it is happening, you can just see and feel the people and KNOW where you are or where the characters are in time and space. The brooding buildings and sultry, salty atmosphere, impending storm building. Takes place in the 50's and you can 'see' the clothes, hats, old phones, no communication. I am only on the 3rd chapter and stayed up, effortlessly, until 2am last night, until the eyes were drooping/stinging badly. Am excited to get back to it and see what happens with these people!!!!!
