We made reservations and had a 'ladies' night out at a really FINE restaurant in LeClaire, Iowa just north of Davenport about 5 miles at Steventon's.. this was the view from our window seat. It was WONDERFUL!!!!  Yes, THAT is the mighty Mississippi!!

Carol and I had filet mignon and Parmesan risotto that was to die for!!!  Creamy and slightly crunchy... filet done just so.  We started with crab cakes, but did not get a picture of those before they were eaten!!!.  White wine for me,  martini for Patti and long island iced tea for Carol..... great bread served with the dinner, warm.... 3 different kinds of butter.....
Patti's salmon and grilles asparagus, she said was done to perfection...

The left over filet  :)  Then we shared cherries jubilee.. it was really good too!!!  Quite the procedure to get that- made at the table.. the waiter told us each step he was taking....  he was moving right along and had a hard time getting a picture without him moving....
Here it is.... it tasted really good and the presentation was wonderful.. even tho the end result does not look like a whole lot  :)

Here we are,  Carol on the left, me in the middle and Patti on the right....  a GREAT time was had by all...  it was great fun, stories, laughs,  food, drink and a dessert, with wonderful friends!!!!
Great start to a great vacation..............
Take Care and God Bless

  1. It sounds like you all had a good time, Loree, and good eats, too. Thanks for including the "mighty Mississippi" picture!

  2. You are looking wonderful Loree! Glad you are having wonderful times on your trip.

  3. I'd have to go for the salmon and asparagus, but the filet sure looked good as well. I love the Mississippi River - and consider it the "river of all rivers in the U.S, Great picture.

  4. That filet looks perfectly cooked. And that dessert - wow. Good company along with that and a view to die for - not much more you can ask for.

  5. Oh, wow, that filet dinner looks wonderful. And the dessert! What a meal. I love salmon, and it looks great, too, but in a restaurant like that, I always order a filet. Definitely looks like you all had a great time. :)
