Crispy Warm

LOVE these Winter days that are cold, but filled with warming sunshine.
These cat tails were just shinning in the suns rays, I had to turn around and go back and try to catch, just the right light.  Don't know if I did or not, but I tried.  The left over water in the ditch was frozen.  There are multiple colors of brown and russet all about. That cat tail fluff was all over the place.

Looks cold, huh?  But it really wasn't all that bad.  But in the shadow of those buttes the snow had not melted off the roads and there were still slick spots, where the snow and ice has melted everywhere else about the area.

Went for a ride to Prineville yesterday to visit a friend, then did not even get a picture of her or her place, which is quite nice....  But took the back roads/ highway from Redmond  thru O'Neil Way which is just a spot in the road.  How do these places get  names?  Must have been a 'place' at some time....  This is a much better road, that highway thru Powell Butte becomes a ranchers freeway with huge pick up trucks vying for the roadway.

Today took Carl for his Xmas wash!!! and nail clipping.  He is getting quite accustomed to me doing this and just walked right up the steps into the tub, then stood there all kind and nice while I washed/rubbed and rinsed.  I wash him THREE times, fully wash, suds up, then rinse.  He likes it and groans with undisguised pleasure... HA!!!  Took my camera and was going to get some pics as he looks quite different all sudsy, but forgot....  geez.  guess it was not on my list...  :)

Take Care All and God Bless
Stay warm and travel safe!!!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

  4. Great eye, Loree. You got some very good photos. I can see what you mean by them practically glowing. Cold, and crisp, but with a nice sun out to bring a bit of warmth. That's about what it was like here today. Love it when days are like that.

  5. That last shot is absolutely stunning. So sorry you didn't get Carl in the bath. I would love to see that. A sudsy Carl would be too much fun!!

  7. Yes, the light is really good - I can even see the shadows on the frozen water from the weeds on the side of the creek. Really pretty. I especially liked the visual picture I got of Carl in his bath. Funny - I just love that dog! :)

  10. I liked all the pictures but the last one was my favorite, and I really liked the idea of the baby going up the steps and voluntarily getting in the bath, and doing the three sudsings and rinses. How did you avoid the shaking of the dog and water and suds flying all over!
