Getty Museum

We spent 5 hours!!!! on the freeways of L.A. to go to the Getty Museum today.  It is one cool, HUGE museum and we saw lots of things... including some Ansel Adams, a hero to me.... beautiful photos!!! And early 1300 to 1700 art, some beautiful and will highlight some in days to come.. But Sacia wanted to see the James Ensor scandalous art....  which may have been scandalous in its time,  but was just macabe to me and she is sure he had to have been on drugs..  What weird things, like someone's nightmares of hell and demons....  NOT to my liking at all.  the pictures here are from banners advertising his work at the museum.. we could not take pictures in that display....
And the views were hindered by smog..  I remember the first time I went a number of years ago and you could see to Santa Monica,  not so today.  And as a water saving thing due to the drought all of the lovely fountains were turned off.

See.. aren't they weird tho???

Here is a view from one of the windows, the museum itself is spectacular...  we did not eat in the cafĂ© there as a cheese sandwich was $9, and the restaurant, had rabbit pate and other weird faire and was very expensive.  Parking was $15 but to get in was free.  Tram to the top of the hill...  We were parked 4 stories under, with elevators, thank heavens...  lots of travertine....

Here I am with a view of Santa Monica, or rather were it should be....  :)

A selfie.....

A good day....  Take Care and God Bless

  1. You are looking SO great! Just beautiful. You make me want to lose 20 pounds, I really should try to do that.

Glad you had a good time at the museum. It sounds very interesting. :)

  3. Who knows what an artist "sees" when he paints. Not the same as the rest of us.

I agree with the comments of Barbara and Betty - you are looking so well and happy.
