Oh My!

Look at that little nose.... this is last night.
Luci had dental surgery
She lost 8 teeth!!! It seems like my dogs always end up with bad teeth!!. I do all the teeth brushing, or try to, feed bones, (NO, not meat bones, but you know chewies, whatever is recommended) and have this 'stuff' I put on her food to fight plaque build up
Nothing seems to do any good. So with age things get bad and needs to be addressed and what is a person to do?  Well, not go to Hawaii or Mexico, but have the dogs teeth fixed...
Which we did, and the costs just build up at an alarming rate, with their add ons and 'need' to do things, that are imperitive to her good health and continued wellness, like x-rays and blood tests and laser healing rays, antibiotics and pain meds.. gosh and by-golly
And her poor little place on her forearm where the IV went.. she had a cute little train bandage!!  and she did not even try to get it off
Last night and this morning she was just zonked and just wanted to be held.  Had a good poop and pee, then back to bed on my lap.  When we finally got to bed she just crawled under there with her itsy nose sticking out.  she felt sort of warm, and whimpered in her sleep.  the poor little thing, she does not know what happened to her and what is wrong and why she feels this way.

Just look at that little, sweet, drugged face!!!

This afternoon she is much more perky and back to her whiny, barking, demanding sweet little self  :)

But we will do what needs be done....

Take Care and God Bless

  1. Our Skitz had terrible teeth also. And it is so sad to see them in pain and all zonked out. I can't even think about how much money we spend too keep our girls well. But they are so worth it. Much better than any trip to Hawaii.

  4. Good for you for getting Luci what she needs. When we take on a pet, it's for life and just like elderly people the medical bills really mount up. I remember when we had 2 elderly dogs, an elderly cat and an elderly horse and an elderly burro all at the same time. The vet bills had to financed they were so high. Luckily the vet just let us make payments over a year. We saw them all off over the rainbow bridge before we went on the road. Give Luci a snuggle for me.

  5. Oh, poor baby! I hate it when our little fur babies have to go through medical stuff. But we have to do it, right? I really think it hurts us more than it hurts them. Hope she's back to normal now. :)
