35...

35 degrees that is!!!  Geez and it is really nice at home too!!
Went to Galesburg today, home of Carl Sandberg.. They have cute little stores and antique district and we looked about and found some cool things, ate in a French restaurant, had crepe marsala, wonderful, then a praline/crepe/icecream/ hot fudge thing,,,, that was good but I was not as enamoured with it as the crepes got all soggy with the ice cream!! But the Marsala was wonderful!!!
These trees, (flower at top) are blooming all over, but they get a little damaged by coldness or any rain and the edges turn brown.... but so very pretty....

On the way back, lots of low, black clouds and SNOW... on Illinois side and again near her house in East Davenport.... Really????
They were starting on those corn fields tho and quite a few were starting to plow them up, going on and on forever...
Am hoping for any day it to change and start to be nice...

Yesterday on the ride we took to Clinton, Iowa then across river and down the Great River Road to Port Byron, saw lots of places that had been trying to flood. and some places had wetness in their yards.. I think I would like to be on hill if I was anywhere near the Mississippi!!!! Just imagine the mosquitos they are going to have, ick!!
Also want to say for yesterday's blog that I am grateful for the fast and understanding response of those fine men that came to save the world from Carol and I!!!! It does give you a sense that they are serious about security and not just anyone can drive thru there willy-nilly :)   Thank you guys!!

Take Care All.... stay warm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Way too cold for me. Those are pretty blossoms. Our cactus are blooming down here and one of the prettiest only blooms for a day and then is gone.
