Well, yes, i gave in and turned the heat on this morning. It was 62 in here!!! Took hot shower and put on long sleeve t-shirt, sweat pants and wool socks!! :) HA!!! i am warm, finally.
In above picture, see the wire rack i installed between window and dish hutch. Got it at the container store awhile back and finally got my mind around how to get it put up. Takes me awhile to figure out some things. BUT it was an accomplishment, involved the new cordless drill, molly's and screws! I am getting used to it. Thought it a viable option to waiting for someone to put shelves up there for me. If it does not work, then can always go the shelf route.
There is a BIG fire southwest of Sisters, been going for a couple days, Pole Creek Fire, they are trying to keep it on forest service land and out of the town, which would be a good thing, one would guess, they have fires up there every year. One place that is rather risky to live. Had lots of wind last night. There are over 3000 firefighters out there right now. (Sisters is 20 miles West of Redmond, where i am) Depending on the wind, we get alot of smoke here and there, the first day was worse than today or yesterday.
Hope all is well with everyone, Take Care and God Bless
And what might you be brewing up in the crock pot? The rack looks good.
ReplyDeleteThey had to close the old highway (242) due to the fire. Guess it's pretty bad.
ReplyDeleteYou did a nice job getting the rack put up.
I really like your wire rack. I also wondered what you were cooking up in the crock pot.
ReplyDeleteI refused to turn the heat on this morning, LOL! I am hoping I can hold out until October. Wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to getting closer to that 62. I have not even tried the heat in the house yet:)
ReplyDeleteAs I'm reading blogs, the weatherman said frost for Thursday night. Brrrrrr. Suppose I should find my woollies!!! Like your shelf idea, I hope it works out for you!
ReplyDeleteLove your warm, inviting kitchen... the yellow!
ReplyDeleteI had to turn the heat on a bit in Homer!
Stuck in Pennsylvania this time but no heat yet. 52 at night warming to 80 during the day. I just use lots of covers and layers until it warms up.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen shot could make a magazine. You definitely have an gift for decorating. Those doilies. Such a cozy feel! The wire racks look great. Hope you don't have to trade them for shelves. I love your dish cupboard. Would love to see a full picture of it and hear its story.
62 degrees is a bit chilly all right! You didn't accidentally leave the door open on the new frig by chance?
ReplyDeleteCute, quaint little kitchen! Racks for shelving... good job! Reminds me of a song by Roger Miller;
ReplyDelete"All ya gotta do, is put your mind to it,
Knuckle down. buckle down, do it, do it, do it". Song about "can't roller-skate in a buffalo herd", or some such a thing :)
