D-Day
In memory of those who fought, gave their lives and prevailed.
My father, Vern Russell Larrance went ashore on Omaha Beach on D-Day. He was in the 29th Division. It is a miracle he survived and I am here today. He never got to see the WWII Memorial in Washington DC, as he passed Nov 12, 2002. There are getting to be less and less of those veterans every day. But we remember their sacrifice, patriotism and devotion to country. They had a job to do, got in and did it and very rarely talked about it and certainly never complained. Came home and built a life and a nation..... Thank You, we remember you and are grateful
Take Care All and God Bless

Thanks for reminding us of the significance of that day.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely and so true...my father, who is 92, fought in the Pacific and he too "rarely talked about it and never complained". How many then had PTSD and we never knew.
ReplyDeleteWe visited the D-Day memorial in VA and had the privilege of having a tour guide who was there. What a wonderful experience.
ReplyDeleteNice tribute
