remembering

 married June 16, 1946

Mom and Dad... been thinking alot about them recently. no idea why.. this is an awful picture, but the only one we have of that day.. they look so happy, huh? Dad drove a log truck for most of his life and Mom was a teacher for 25 yrs. she started back to school when i was in the 5th grade and her 1st year was when i was a Freshman in High School.  they were married 56 yrs. had 3 kids. 5 grandchildren. 4 greats He was with the 29th division on the 1st wave into Omaha Beach. miracle he survived and we are here. She went to Willamette University after high school and majored in voice and music theory, was going to be the next great contralto, then.... me.... who can't carry a tune, much to her chagrin.  she did know her classical music!!! she sang at weddings and funerals, until there was one too many children and she no longer did that... Dad's hair was red.... they were such hard workers... had a couple farms, sheep, cattle, huge garden, canned alot!!! Every place we moved to dad had to get a fruit room set up for her... boy those canned peaches and canned/stewed tomatoes were worth remembering!!! I remember she was so glad the 1st year she retired, she could can corn during the day and not have to do it at night after a day at school...

They were so very dear and so well and fondly/lovingly remembered.

Rest in Peace Mom and Dad

Take Care and God Bless
