waiting...

 We got a BIG dump of snow Saturday night and all thru Sunday... and boy was it wet.. could not use my handy broom to sweep aside snow for a potty spot... Brian had to get out there with the shovel..

This was Finn's position for most of the time when i was sitting down..

He has such a time going potty... stands and smells the air for awhile, then it is off and running, running around the yard, I have started a bad, bad precedent in going out with him, as now i set him outside and he stands for a bit then jumps on the door and whines... until i go out with him... back to his antics... then he sees a leaf... has to pick it up and trot about with it for awhile, then drops and off sniffing, then oh---- a stick or part of a branch and picks it up and off again , carrying it about, running, stumbles, rolls up and at it again, running. All this time i am wandering about the yard, first one end then the other, and he comes and checks in and follows me about, running, picking up leaves or sticks and off again... if he hears anything then he stops and decides if it is bad or not, if he does not like, then he runs to the door. I reassure him all is ok, just a car, plane, big truck, neighbors dog... he pees here and there, off and on.  but no poops.... oh no, those are saved for in the house somewhere... it is getting better... and he does go outside now and again, but wonder if it connects that, that is why he is out there... huh???.. has gone on pee pad a couple times....  gets highly praised when he does... also when outside!!! for sure... i am just watching his cues and getting him outside.  and being successful at times and days...  he is certainly a caution... loves his toys and playing fetch, which he does really good at, did so from the very beginning and he will sit when asked... and comes on a whistle or for squeaky toy..  He does sit/lay in his carseat really good.. and knows to stay there when the car is moving... stop lights and waiting in line at Starbucks, it is fair game tho for the lap....

But that trying to find a spot is almost driving me crazy and the snow and really cold throws a wrench in the works .. I bundle up and just stand there in the lee of the house, under the eve so i don't get wet or blown by the wind....and he stops-goes-sniffs-and apparently has a wonderful time.
