I made this cute little table scarf!! Yes, I did!!! It has some mistakes in it, but would not be handmade if not, right? And as long as they are not glaringly obvious they don't bother me, I am learning, I tried... :) got the pattern & kit from Temecula Quilt store (they have a blog & are on line) I became aware of them from Paulette from Sweet P Quilting Blog..... look in on them from time to time and they had this cute little thing and I ordered it.... and maybe, just maybe this will get me into getting back to sewing, as if I did a lot before :) well, I try... as I said. It was not that easy to figure how the thing went together, usually there is a pattern, like a puzzle, sort of, but could not get this one figured out... maybe because it is not set squarely but the points go a different direction. don't know.... but it will be nice sitting on my table.....
Then this is a teaser for my friend in Iowa. Bought a desk at a 2nd hand store called the Iron Horse in Bend. They have the coolest things, and I like the shabby look. Decided I needed a desk in my bedroom to do bills at, a dedicated place, rather than mixed with the craft things, and the computer Brian uses. And I have a sort of empty wall in my bedroom, haha.... can't have a bare space, it has to be filed with something, don't you know.....
BUT have a couple projects that am in the midst of so could not just put it in the room. Like I have to redo the top on that white dresser as the paint bubbled up and then came off in places when I moved the TV once, well that will not do, so it is in the garage, waiting for me to get to it.... had to take the drawers out to move it, heavy, and they need to be sanded as there is too much paint on the edges and they stick, so can't get the desk in there until the white dresser is done... also going to paint a quilt rack and hang on the wall, so I will have another shelf to sit things on, never enough shelves for 'stuff'
So one thing leads to another, one thing dependent on another getting done first....
the wheel barrow is in the garage, half filled with left over compost, going to have to find a place for that, as don't want that in the garage forever and may need that wheelbarrow for some other thing, right? And with all of this going on the Element has to sit in the driveway and not in the garage where it likes to be.... I WILL get to all of this next week!!!!
In the meantime, it was raining here!!! We got a really good soak, which is a good thing, I am not complaining, good for the grass seed I have just put in.....
So Take Care & God Bless All, safe travels and may you finish all of your projects!!!!
Your quilt is beautiful! A table runner is one of the first things I made when I started quilting. Did you know many people put a "mistake" in their quilts on purpose? That shows it was really made by hand. I never did that on purpose, I was always a good enough quilter to have the mistakes come naturally! :)
ReplyDeleteI once did a lot of quilting. I love quilts of any kind. Your table runner is very pretty and I don't see any mistake at all. None of my early things looked this good and I've been away from it so long I suspect I'd have to start all over. Hope you continue.
ReplyDeleteLove the table runner and the desk is awesome! I am trying to figure out what wall in your room was empty.......seems to me the room was nicely filled up!
ReplyDeleteYour table runner turned out so cute. My oh my, you certainly have lots of projects to complete. Good luck with it all.
ReplyDeleteLoree you are just so crafty! Love the table scarf. I need to get back into sewing. I bet that dresser is going to look great when you get it done too. Do you ever sit down??
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try quilting, but back in the days when my eyes were good and I sewed a lot, it had to be a full quilt or nothing at all. I wish they had these kits back then (maybe they did) and I would have tried something small to begin with. I think you did a fine job!
ReplyDeleteI get tired just thinking about all that work:)
ReplyDeleteLove the desk - you aren't going to paint it are you?!! You did a great job with your table scarf!! Proud of you girlfriend!
