I'm Back
It was SPRING in Iowa. When i got there, there was daffodils, tulips, flowering trees.... Everything was turning green, green, green...
The Mississippi was flooding.... gently, not into the parks which run along the river, but seemed to be rolling along really fast. Credit Island was cut off.. When i left most all of that had receded...
We did go to Texas, Oklahoma and back thru Missouri and the Ozarks.. The Ozarks were a surprise and very beautiful, lots of little and large lakes... lots of vacationing people, lots of boats... HUGE boats... and it is ALL flat, flat, flat.....
When we got back from Texas the peonies were just beautiful, this person had them all along their sidewalk on a corner lot, it was breathtaking....
no matter how long i stay, we never get everything done that we want to do, most but not all. I never got my chicken divan that Carol likes and i crave at times.... have tried to make it for myself, but it is never the same. She also makes GREAT poached eggs and we had them a number of times, so very good with toast and marmalade.... yum!!!
The children are growing like they are being fed fertilizer!!! Guthrie is 12 this year (i think that is right) Laithe is 8... Juniper will be 4 in July and Cort will be 2 in October.... see growing like crazy.. Mom and Dad doing well too...
(and apparently i never got a pic of all of them together)
Carol and i went with the two oldest to Iowa City to stay in a hotel with a large pool and room service... went to a couple stores, got donuts... Went on Swinging Bridge in Columbia City... that was fun, the kids liked it too, altho there was a certain amount of trepidation to start for ALL of us, but we went all the way across and survived!!!
Will have pics of all this in later blogs....
Took youngest kids to story/craft hour at Chick Fil-A, they also have play ground equipment inside, which is a huge draw :)
It was 100 degrees on Carol's deck the day i left.... OH and THAT is a story in itself... air travel, geez! But we had mostly good weather, only rained, heavily a couple times, and had a great Moon over the Mississippi one of the 1st days i was there...
But i am home, all was well here, Brian even mowed the lawn!!!! But have been cleaning and scrubbing for two days now... hahaha.. their idea of clean and mine are two different things...
Am catching up with nail appts, pedi, vet appts for Luci.... yearly check..
Take Care all and God Bless
