In the Yard

WELL, one might say the sunflowers are DONE!!!
Got them all pulled up and in the trash, which was picked up today, all gone!!!  Some of them were hard to get up, quite the root system !!! And right next to the sidewalk, so was hard to get the shovel in there...

 And here come the leaves!!!! 

To the side right, is a picture up into the branches of the TREES!!!  Just in the last week the leaves have really turned.

Have had the heat on most days... i know, i am a weenie, but am not going to be uncomfortable.. Carl lays right in front of the stove in his bed... most all of the time.

But saying that, there has been some really nice days here..  Been to Bend a couple times on different chores, LOTS of traffic.... Even smoke one time, don't know where that came from..

Been busy putting the yard to bed, cutting things back as they die off..OH... did i tell you the deer came through a couple weeks ago and ate ALL the blooms off my mums, i have two huge plants in the garden and they had not bothered them b4, well not so this year,  Big, beautiful plants and have 4 blooms on them!!! Really irritating....

 Look at the sod we finally got down!!! It was left over pieces that were being thrown away on a job Brian was doing. And i had to go get three more strips to complete the job at Instant Landscaping... it was a job to get the dead sod out of there that was in and the roots that was under it all.  Trips to the dump.  It is just amazing how much there is in such a really small space.
That sod is really quite thin actually, you only need dig down a couple inches, he also put in soil amendment and fertilizer Think it looks nice.
Trying to keep Luci from peeing right there, she can just walk a couple steps out to the 'old' grass.... but she gets all offended when you interrupt her pee.  Geez, if looks could kill...
But hopefully it will be much better and much, much less mud tracked into the house from rain or snow and melting.

 This was right outside the back door and the picture to the left is around the corner.  We put in stepping stones and sand to the water faucet.  Yes, Luci thinks that is a good pee place too, weird little thing, the whole backyard, plenty of room for her..... guess she does  not want to over exert herself.

Been glued to the TV the last two days, can. not. figure out what is going on, i swear, aren't we all grown ups here???
