drive n deliver

On the way to Sisters.... this is the Three Sisters and above the truck is Broken Top..  It was a great day, Carol came in from Bend and we drove to just East of Sisters to deliver Xmas goodies to my niece... Yesterday i got busy and made two candies, fudge and pecan pie bars and 3 different cookies, Almond shortbread, mexican wedding cakes and molasses, the last two are OLD family recipes... got the wedding cake, or snowball cookie recipe from an older lady that lived behind us in Aloha, have been making them almost every year since 1968... my father LOVED them... one year, back when we used film and it took awhile to get the pictures, when i did, in every one of him he had one of those cookies in his hand!!! He must have been eating on them all day long!!! And the molasses were my Grandpa Wallace's recipe....

We had a nice little visit with niece and her daughter and the dogs and cats.... As you can see it was a wonderous day, but it was really cold...

there is new snow on the mountain, no skiing yesterday on Bachelor, as it was too windy, but not today, would have been a wonderful day to be up there.

When my niece was small she used to spend alot of time with me, weekends and days off school.  We did alot of shopping and lunches with Carol, she called Carol "Crystal" we could never figure out why, she was the only one that ever called her that, and she could never explain why she called her that, Carol was just always was and still is "Crystal" to her.... little kids are funny....

Here is a just about perfect picture of Mt Jefferson.  It is one mountain that you can always tell there is new snow, lots of snow on it... almost ALL of the rocks and ridges are covered!

Had PT at 2:45p and boy i am so very out of shape, takes just about nothing at all to make me tired and my hip just scream, but it is getting better..

Take Care All and God Bless... Have a very Merry, happy and Blessed Christmas...

  1. Nice to hear you were able to get out for a visit. My Mom always made Mexican wedding cookies. That picture of Mount Jefferson is so beautiful it doesn't look real.

Merry Merry Christmas from the Dixons.
