We have the best place, Pisano's in tumalo, they have wood fired pizza and we went there today after a baseball game (5th graders) and for my niece's b'day (and did not ever get a pic of her!!) But that pizza was darn good.
It was a wonderful day..
I did take Finn with me, lots of people had their dogs there, but he was just too stimulated with all those people and dogs, whined and barked and the girls all wanted to pet him, he was a distraction, so he went back in the car for a time out...
Am going to have to work with him too about getting out of the car, he just scrambles all over me to NOT be left alone. He is fine until i turn off the car and reach for the keys and he knows i am going to leave so is horrid.. he settles right after, i have sneeked/snuck? up on him and he was laying in his bed all cozy.. sometimes, he jumps and almost gets out! I did hold him as i am getting out, then put him back in and that worked to a degree... I swear there is always something and i feel like he is just too much in new situations, but i want him to be able to go with me... and i do at times take him in with me, like Lowe's allows that and Petco.. and a hippie place in Lincoln City let me bring him in with me, i held him.. when he was a puppy and Rylie was with me, she held him inside her jacket, but he is too big for that, really, now.
Look at his Nails!!! With THIS dog i was determined to do them myself.... well..... i have been manipulating his little feet all along, handling his nails... i got one of those soundless dremels that even has lights on it, so you can see... welllll he won't have a thing to do with it, you turn it on and he runs, just pick up and touch him with it, he runs... So, we all, Brian, Robin and me tried to DO the nails Thursday and oh my heavens... we could not get him wrestled down or hold him so you could work on him, tried the saran wrap around the head smeared with peanut butter, he likes peanut butter, NOPE, that did NOT work, he was like one big muscle, moving all over the place, trying to nip at us, was not really biting, just wanted us to leave him alone and get that thing out of there, not interested in the PB.... he is not really too very food oriented... when you want him to eat something... pills are the same way...
Then we tried the towels with 4 holes cut in it, put the legs in the holes, hold him up and work on the dangling legs.. hahahahahaha could not even get his legs in the holes!!! i think i got one nail done... SO, found a groomer on Friday, Dirty Dog in Bend, yes had to go all the way to Bend ( had gone to one in Redmond and they did not do a very good job, all chipped and not very short, they did only the tips) This little girl, maybe weighed 100# had it done in less than 5 minutes... just goes to show, you really do need to have a professional do a job, I did not watch because they do better if they can't see you or have you in the room, they don't act out as much.. she said he wiggled a bit.... Geez, hard to believe.. and i feel inadequate.. again...
But here they are, short and not chipped... so guess on the 1st of the month, this will be a trek to Dirty Dog.... and you know he is no longer chewing on his nails.... had been chewing on those long things, kept looking to see if he had something going on down there and could never see anything, cept those long nails....
Take Care All and God Bless
Oh those joyous moments of puppy hood. Our Skitz screamed bloody murder when we turned the car off and started to get out. People thought we were killing her. And we totally gave up on trimming nails. We found a groomer not too far from us. Not worth their getting all stressed and us too.
