Eugene

Spent four days in Eugene.. tagged along while Rylie went to a Womens Basketball Camp at U of O... She appeared to have a great time.. We ate out alot, she got to go swimming at a huge pool with friends. We went school shopping.  The drive over and back was good, we missed alot of the smoke that had drifted into the C.O. area.. and it was nice in Eugene, only drizzles one morning.. and it smelled good!!  we were really comfortable at the AirBNB.  and it was VERY clean.  She was a little nervous at first as she did not know anyone, was not going with anyone else from her school and was worried she would not be good enough, BUT she did great and even won some of the competitions and made baskets... We were able to watch her for and hour or so b4 they would break for the day. So worries were unfounded.

Monday night i had friends who live in Eugene over for dinner, it went well, meaning the food turned out good! And we talked and talked until it got dark outside.. We sat on the patio so Sade could roam the yard... Jan on the left i went to High School with and in the middle is Tanya, ( a good friend who had at one time many years ago been married to my youngest brother) we remained good friends.. You never know what life will throw at you and what sticks and what does not.

these were under the front room window at the AirBNB...

On the way back we stopped at Fish Lake to use the 'facilities'  they are cleaner than at Sahalie Falls, which has tons of people that stop there to see the Falls.  There is not much to see at Fish Lake, which goes away in the summer time... as you can see. but its a great little place to stop, has a trail head to the guard station and a couple picnic tables.. and not too many people.. but is one place you always see but never stop at...

Sade barely has to walk when Rylie is around! and she takes advantage of it too.  does not like walking and has gotten to hate the harness, but it is the only way to have a leash on her and under control.. don't want to have a leash on a collar and have to pull on it, to maybe hurt her next or back.. soooo she will just have to get used to them.. the one she has now is just getting a little small on her..

JeriMay got me a pet sling and we carried her into some of the stores we went to, as it got too hot at times to leave her in the car.. and OMG you can't get on with your business, so many people want to stop and talk or pet... takes forever.. everyone has a doxie or had one or knows someone that had/has one... one guy even thought i wanted to rehome her!!!! NO!!!

Take Care all and God Bless

  1. Great times!!! Of course Sade is popular. Just look at her. Dachshunds are the best.

  2. Hope you see this comment. This is Sandie and when I leave Helena to finally head south, I will take I-15 down through Idaho Falls, clear on the east side of the state. I'd love to meet up with you if we can work it out. Maybe next year.
