Went to the small dog park Saturday and Finn got bit!!! The dog was a med size australian shepherd type. He was chasing down a thrown ball and thing Finn was just in the way, Finn screamed and ran like the wind and out ran the other dog. I did not notice anything until we were in the car..
I felt like such a bad mom!!! It doesn't seem to bother him at all and i have been putting some salve on it, but not IN the eye, which is a little hard to do with him wiggling about... but am watching it.. it seems to be scabbing over good and not staying open.. It certainly no longer looks this bad...
and don't know what to do about the dog park, it was such a good place for him to get socialized and run, run, run... think i will go back and not let this affect our visiting, but certainly be more vigilant... there were quite a few dogs this time too, b4 there was only been not more than 3 or 4.. including him.. and lots of older, slow moving ones... maybe there were just too many that day, over 6.... which for a hyper dog was maybe too many and Finn in curious about what is going on... but never stays for any length of time around other dogs, but comes back to me repeatedly for a check in , i guess. if more than a couple, think i will just not go into the park...
